Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Been a while O:

First of all, I wish all of you a happy new year.

It's been a while since my last journal.

Um.
I got a cat from the local pound, back in October ;u;
I named her Navi, she's almost 8 months old.
I love her, although she loves to bite my hand every now and then =w='

I started playing World of Warcraft again, haven't since BC came out.
Currently playing a Pandaren monk, on the EU Burning Legion server.
It's fun, except for the amount of Polish fucks 8T _{_{Yeah, I know, that's racist, bite me}}
Everywhere I go, Polish chats show up.
I decided to turn off guild invites.
Now I get guild invites whisps in Polish :\
Annoying.
Just 20-something levels to go.
Then I'll switch to a diff server OTL

Uuuuuh
For my birthday back in November, I bought myself a boxset of the ASOIAF books in English.
Got all 5 books, for only 30 euros <3
Almost done with the first one, hahaha

And I'm going to move to a different city in a couple of months, if I have to believe my mom.
It'll be closer to my brother, and more central.
More job opportunities.
And I might actually get myself into taxidermy after all, since the courses will be in that city.
Still want to do sfx make-up of course, but I think being multifunctional is better.
Bought myself an antler trophy a while back.
Nothing special, cheap, just from a roe deer.
I miss the preserved birds we had years ago.
I want to start collecting taxidermy and articulated skeletons, both animal and human, lol.

Anyway, that's all.
